To inspect the internal and surface defects of cast steel parts, Hengrui Machinery has established a complete non-destructive testing system to timely detect the internal and surface defects of cast steel parts. Currently, Hengrui Machinery can carry out on-site
ultrasonic testing,
penetrant testing,
magnetic particle inspection, and
radiographic inspection. The characteristics of these detection methods are:
1.
Ultrasonic testing (UT): Detects possible defects such as pores, cracks, and inclusions inside cast steel parts using ultrasonic equipment. UT testing can determine the location, size, and shape of defects, helping us to discover potential problems early and ensure the integrity and safety of castings.
2.
Radiographic testing (RT): Radiographic testing uses X-rays or gamma rays to penetrate cast steel products. By detecting the transmission and attenuation of the rays, internal defects such as pores and cracks can be found. This method is suitable for thicker cast steel products and can provide detailed information about the shape, size, and location of defects, ensuring the quality and reliability of the product. At Hengrui Machinery, we are equipped with a professional radiographic inspection room and use cobalt 60 as the radiation source to quickly inspect the internal quality of large and thick parts.
3.
Magnetic particle testing (MT): Magnetic particle testing is a method of detecting surface and near-surface defects by applying magnetic particles to the surface of cast steel. When there is a defect with an abnormal magnetic field, such as a crack, the magnetic particles will form visible magnetic particle deposition lines in that area. This method is suitable for detecting surface cracks and other surface defects, helping to eliminate potential destructive factors and ensure the integrity and availability of the product.
4. Penetrant testing (PT): Penetrant testing is a surface defect detection method based on the principle of liquid penetration. By applying penetrant to the surface of cast steel and removing excess penetrant, it can be observed whether penetrant has entered the defect surface. This method can detect fine defects such as surface cracks and holes to ensure the quality and reliability of the product’s appearance.
In actual operation, we carry out single or multiple non-destructive testing according to material, product structure, and customer requirements to timely discover possible casting problems. While ensuring that customer quality requirements and industry standards are met, we help ourselves optimize production processes and improve product quality and competitiveness.
